Our environmental impact

We have a 75% recycle target for each mattress we recycle. We keep our by-products in Australia, creating local jobs and supporting local industry.

For every 23 mattresses that we collect and recycle each day, we create a job for someone who needs one.

What can an old mattress become?

Your old mattress and base can be made into metal roofing, carpet underlay and mulch instead of taking up landfill space.

We accept Mastercard and Visa. Payment can be made at our drop-off locations.

No, all residential collections are pre paid and completed online.

When booking online it will give you the first collection date available in your area.

Collections occur between 6am and 4:30pm if a delay occurs you will be notified.

We collect foam, latex and innerspring mattresses – not futons.

1 x base = 1 piece   

1 x ensemble, mattress & base = 2 pieces

We do accept cot mattresses and we charge per unit, regardless of the size of the mattress. Our pricing is based on Soft Landing being a not-for-profit, with most of our revenue going to wages of people with barriers to work.

Soft Landing only recycle mattresses and ensemble bases, for all other household waste you may want to contact your local council they may have some recycling options for you.

We only collect mattresses and ensemble bases

If raining, please still put your mattress out for collection. We will collect your mattress if wet.

Please ensure your mattress and/or ensemble base(s) are outside by 6am on the day of collection. We collect from your street kerbside, vergeside, loading dock or carpark (for units) or nature strip. This is a kerb/vergeside collection, our drivers do not enter customer’s premises. As written in our term and conditions.

Yes, loading docks, carpark, bin area and kerbside. You will receive an email confirmation of your booking. Please send through email and location details when making the booking. We will then asses the location and get back to you if it is suitable.

Yes we can collect plastic and cardboard packaging from new mattresses when we collect your old mattress.

The cost is $11 per mattress box flat packed and 1 lot of plastic packaging and can be added at the time of booking.

Please note: Conditions for the collection of mattress packaging:

1 box and plastic per mattress collected

All boxes to be flat packed

Any additional packaging items will not be collected

No unfortunately we only collect on certain days. Date options are available during the booking process.

Online Booking

Extra details for a collection can be added by forwarding your confirmation email to [email protected] with any extra details you feel our drivers may need to help with your collection however it is a kerbside collection and our team do not enter private property.

Yes, please visit bookings.softlanding.com.au/edit-booking and enter in your booking reference and surname to find your booking (cancellation conditions apply). If you need to cancel last minute, please email [email protected]

Daily collection times are between 6:00am-4:30pm

Occasionally delays occur and we are unable to collect your mattress as scheduled.
You will be notified and the collection will occur between 6:00am-4:30pm the following day.
Please leave your mattress on the kerbside.

Please forward your confirmation email to [email protected]with your explanation and we can cancel the collection and issue the appropriate refund.

Cancelation conditions apply:

Cancellations/reschedules can be made online – 2 days prior to collection date.

Cancellations/reschedules within 48hrs, please contact 1800 763 852

If you cancel your booking before 2pm the day before your scheduled collection, we will issue you a full refund.

If you cancel after 2pm the day before your scheduled collection, you will be charged a $25.00 booking fee, and refunded the balance.

General

We are a non-for-profit social enterprise with about 65% of revenue going directly to wages of our staff. The remainder goes to recycling processing costs.
