Recently, our General Manager David Petrie chatted with 2023 NSW Young Australian of the Year and founder Lottie Dalziel on her podcast How To Save Our Planet, diving deep into the world of sustainable mattress recycling.

Lottie and David covered the journey from waste to resource and the positive outcomes we’re achieving for people and the planet while touching on some larger issues – like the true cost of waste and the need for mattress recyclers to publish accurate recovery rate claims.

David says one of the biggest challenges is:

“People make claims that they can’t meet, and effectively, it’s a race to the bottom to try to do the right thing and recycle as cheaply as possible. The two aren’t compatible. We have to keep saying that… [mattress recycling] was never free; there is a cost”.
